- No. Base64 is a reversible encoding, not a security measure. Anyone can decode it, so never use it to hide passwords or sensitive data.
- Does it support Unicode and Chinese characters?
- Yes. Text is encoded as UTF-8 before the Base64 step, so Chinese characters, emoji and accented letters round-trip correctly in both directions.
- Why does decoding say Invalid Base64 input?
- The input contains characters outside the Base64 alphabet or has broken padding. Copy only the encoded string itself, without any surrounding text.
- Can I encode binary files?
- No, this tool works on text only. Binary data such as images needs a file-oriented encoder instead.
