Cron Expression Explainer

Explain cron expressions in plain English. Free online cron schedule parser for developers.

Frequently asked questions

What do the five cron fields mean?
In order they are minute (0-59), hour (0-23), day of month (1-31), month (1-12) and day of week (0-6, where 0 is Sunday). The tool labels each field of your expression.
Does it support the seconds field?
Yes. Switch the field order to With seconds and the parser expects six fields: second, minute, hour, day of month, month and day of week.
Why does it report the wrong number of fields?
Cron requires exactly five fields, or six when seconds are included. Extra or missing values are the usual cause, so check for double spaces in your expression.
Does it tell me the next run time?
No. This parser breaks the expression down and labels each field so you can read the schedule yourself; it does not compute upcoming execution times.
