Frequently asked questions

How do I switch between encoding and decoding?
Click the Switch to Decode button. The same textarea then treats your input as Morse code and converts it back to letters.
Which characters are supported?
All 26 letters, the digits 0-9 and common punctuation including period, comma, question mark, exclamation mark, slash, parentheses, ampersand, colon, semicolon, equals, plus, hyphen, underscore, quote and at sign.
How are spaces between words shown?
A space in your text becomes a slash in the Morse output, and a slash decodes back to a space, so word boundaries stay intact.
Does capitalization matter?
No. Text is uppercased before encoding, and Morse input only uses dots and dashes, so case is irrelevant in both directions.
