How do I split a bill between people?

Enter the bill amount, the tip percentage and the number of people. The tool shows the tip, the total and how much each person pays including their share of the tip.

Should I tip on the pre-tax or post-tax amount?

The tool calculates the tip on whatever bill amount you enter. If you prefer to tip on the pre-tax subtotal, type that number into the bill field.

What tip percentage is normal?

In the United States 15 to 20 percent is customary for restaurant service, but you can enter any percentage you like.

Does it round the per-person amount?

No, results are shown to two decimal places, so you can decide yourself whether to round up to whole cash.
